Welsh singer Tom Jones has laughed off rumors he has insured his famed chest hair for millions of dollars - putting the stories down to journalists having “a bit of fun”.

The Delilah hit-maker had been rumored to have taken out a massive $7 million insurance policy with British firm Lloyds of London in a bid to protect his prized chest mane. However the star has dismissed the reports - accusing the media of making up the story for amusement.

He writes on his Internet website, “No such policy exists or has ever been considered. We assume this is just a bit of fun.”
